RADIATION MEASUREMENT PROCESS

After the device is turned on, it starts evaluation of the radiation background. The first results are displayed in 9 seconds. To determine the background radiation emanated by a specific object, select "Measurement" mode, take SOEKS QUANTUM to the object, evaluate the result. The measurement results and the accumulated dose are saved in the dosimeter memory.

WHY IS RADIATION DANGEROUS?

Radiation (ionizing radiation) presents radiation types which are dangerous for human and can ionize the substance. There is alpha, beta, gamma and X-ray radiation.

Effects on the human body: ionizing radiation destroys proteins, DNA, changes the cell structure. This leads to development of cancer, possible mutations in the offspring.

The Sources of increased ionizing radiation can be found anywhere: construction materials, food, jewelry and even children's toys can be dangerous.

How to detect radiation? The object contaminated by radiation can be detected only by means of specialized devices (dosimeters) with embedded radiation sensor. SOEKS Quantum has simple and reliable embedded SBM 20-1 sensors manufactured by Rosatom, which are used in most modern dosimeters. They enable quick and accurate detection of the increased radiation background.
